LEAP Protocol

LEAP Diet Phases

LEAP Diet Phases

The LEAP ImmunoCalm® Dietary Protocol is a structured elimination diet designed to reduce chronic inflammation by systematically removing reactive foods identified by your MRT (Mediator Release Test) results. The protocol is divided into three carefully designed phases.

Phase 1: Elimination (Weeks 1–2)

🟢 The Safest Foods Only

During Phase 1, you eat only foods that scored Green (Low Reactive) on your MRT results. This is the most restrictive phase, typically limited to 20–30 foods. The goal is to establish a baseline of minimal inflammation.

What to expect:

  • Most patients begin to notice symptom improvement within 5–10 days
  • Your CLT will create a customized meal plan using your safest foods
  • Strict adherence is critical — even small amounts of reactive foods can restart the inflammatory cycle
  • Hidden triggers in packaged foods (e.g., “natural flavors”) must be identified and avoided

💡 Wellbloom Tip: Search our Product Directory for foods classified as “Low Risk” to find packaged products with the fewest MRT-tested triggers.

Phase 2: Reintroduction (Weeks 3–6+)

🟡 Controlled Food Challenges

In Phase 2, you systematically reintroduce Yellow (Moderate Reactive) foods one at a time, while monitoring for symptom recurrence. This phase is guided by your Certified LEAP Therapist.

Reintroduction protocol:

  • Introduce one new food every 2–3 days
  • Eat a substantial portion of the food (not just a taste)
  • Track symptoms using a food-symptom diary for 48–72 hours
  • If no reaction occurs, the food is added to your “safe” rotation
  • If symptoms return, remove the food and wait for symptoms to clear before testing the next one

💡 Products classified as “Moderate Risk” on Wellbloom typically contain 1–2 MRT-tested substances and may be appropriate for Phase 2 challenges under practitioner guidance.

Phase 3: Maintenance (Ongoing)

🔵 Long-Term Balance

Phase 3 is your long-term eating pattern. By this point, you’ve identified your safe foods, confirmed your reactive triggers, and established a sustainable diet that manages inflammation.

Key principles:

  • Rotate foods to prevent new sensitivities from developing (the “4-day rotation” concept)
  • Continue avoiding confirmed Red (Reactive) foods indefinitely
  • Periodically re-challenge Yellow foods that initially caused reactions — some sensitivities diminish over time
  • Work with your CLT for annual or semi-annual MRT retesting if needed

💡 “High Risk” products on Wellbloom contain 3+ MRT-tested substances. These products require practitioner-guided evaluation and are generally not recommended until Phase 3 at the earliest.

Phase Compatibility on Wellbloom

Every product assessment on Wellbloom includes a LEAP Phase Compatibility indicator. Here’s how to interpret them:

Phase Label Meaning Action
Phase 1 — Possible 0 MRT triggers found. All ingredients mapped to safe analytes. Cross-reference with your personal MRT results
Phase 2 — Guided Challenge 1–2 MRT triggers found. May be suitable for reintroduction. Discuss with your CLT before trying
Phase 3 — Practitioner Guided 3+ MRT triggers found. Multiple known reactive substances present. Requires individual CLT evaluation

Wellbloom’s phase labels are based on the number of MRT-tested substances in a product, not your individual test results. Always consult your Certified LEAP Therapist before making dietary decisions.
