Corn is the second most common MRT trigger in our database, found in 41% of all grocery products. What makes corn especially difficult to avoid is its ubiquity in processed food manufacturing.

Corn appears as: corn syrup, high fructose corn syrup, corn starch, dextrose, maltodextrin, corn oil, corn flour, and modified food starch. Many of these are used as fillers, sweeteners, or thickeners in products that have nothing to do with corn.

Even medications and supplements frequently use corn starch as a binding agent. During the LEAP protocol, clients are often surprised to discover corn in products they assumed were corn-free.
